Flashpoint takes place during an alternate timeline caused by the Reverse-Flash in which many heroes, villains, and events of the DC Universe are drastically different. Years ago, a young and adventurous Princess Diana of the Amazons decides to explore the world outside of Themyscira. In the middle of the ocean, Diana is attacked by a kraken. Wounded, she is rescued by a young Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman. This event starts a relationship between to two hidden societies, and some time later Diana and Arthur are to enter a political marriage. But at the wedding, an assassination attempt goes wrong, and Diana's mother is assassinated, with blame falsely placed on Garth, Arthur's ward. Fueled by a conspiracy that includes both the Amazons and Atlanteans, the Amazons are ready to go to war.
