BARBIE® AS WONDER WOMAN
DELUXE EDITION

Company: Mattel
Release Date: 2004
Dimensions: 11" H
Points of Articulation: 11
Estimated Current Market Value: $50

Description:
The third Barbie® as Wonder Woman doll. This Modern Age Deluxe Edition was released at the same time as the Playline Edition but offered a more attractive overall interpretation of the character featuring several upgrades. Most noteably, this version was given a more pleasing head-sculpt with finely detailed face paint and micro-rooted hair, tailored bodice and a more heavily glittered "stacked W" symbol. Additionally, the boots on the Deluxe Edition are not scored down the back like they are on the Playline Edition.

Both editions come with identical interior packaging, except the lunchbox keychain accessory included with the Deluxe Edition features a variant image.

Both also come with identical doll stands, however the Deluxe Edition has the full Wonder Woman logo printed directly on it, while the Playline Edition has a "stacked W" symbol sticker.

The outer packaging, while similar, is noticeably different on the Deluxe Edition. The front window plastic is thicker and wraps slightly around the corner; a die-cut Wonder Woman Logo is floating in the window field; a striped apron has been added at the top of the box which replaces the pink Barbie logo on the Playline Edition. On the back, the illustration is the same, but the product photography has been changed to reflect the Deluxe Edition.

Both editions feature articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips and knees.

Doll stand included, but not pictured.
